At OSSTube, we prioritize the confidentiality and security of our users' data. This policy outlines our practices regarding data collection, usage, and protection for all Educators, Institutions, and Students on our platform.

• Hosted Content: OSSTube integrates educational media via secure, verified connections. We do not claim ownership of content imported by Educators.
• Compliance: All shared content must adhere to Global Educational Standards and our Content Safety Guidelines. We reserve the right to audit content for compliance.
• Data Rights: Educators retain full rights to their intellectual property and course materials.

• Transaction Safety: All financial transactions are processed through PCI-DSS compliant payment gateways. OSSTube does not store sensitive cardholder data.
• Third-Party Services: We may utilize trusted third-party services for analytics and infrastructure. These partners are vetted for strict data privacy standards.

• Encrypted Messaging: Student-Mentor interactions via OSSChat are private and used solely for educational support. We do not sell or share communication logs with advertisers.

OSSTube lets you sign in with your Google Account, and lets Educators connect a YouTube channel. Both are optional — you can create an account with an email address and a password instead, and you can use OSSTube without connecting YouTube at all.

• What we receive from Google Sign-In: your first name, last name, email address, display name and profile picture URL. We use them for one purpose — to create and identify your OSSTube account, so you do not have to set a separate password. Your display name is used to suggest a username, which you can change.
• What we receive from YouTube (only if you connect a channel): we request the read-only scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.readonly and read your channel's public details — channel ID, title, description, thumbnail, custom URL, country, creation date, and the subscriber, video and view counts. This is used to verify that the channel is yours and to show your creator profile on OSSTube. We never read, upload, modify or delete your videos, and we cannot post to your channel.
• What we do NOT do: we do not sell Google user data, we do not transfer it to advertisers or data brokers, and we do not use it to serve ads or to train artificial-intelligence models. It is not shared with any third party except where you ask us to, or where the law requires it.
• Storage and protection: the account fields above are stored on our servers in encrypted form and transmitted over TLS. Access tokens are used only for the request that reads your channel and are not stored long-term.
• Withdrawing access and deletion: you can disconnect OSSTube at any time from Google Account → Third-party apps & services. To have the data we hold deleted, email [email protected] from the address on the account and we will delete it, and your OSSTube account, within 30 days.

Limited Use: OSSTube's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

• Cookie Usage: We use cookies to personalize content and ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to our website.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to OSSTube and/or other sites on the Internet.

Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings
